Time for Hostess of the Month

Where the heck does time go? It seems like I just did hostess of the month and here it is the middle of August and time for my group to meet again. Last month I think I was more prepared than I am right now. My ladies make four cards, but this month I am going to have them make color charts. I printed out the charts from the Stampin Up Demonstrator website, cut all the pieces of card stock, packed up the ink pads and markers and now I am ready to go. Actually, I have two cards they will all make along with the color charts. I thought these charts would be nice for anyone who loves color and this will help them decide if they even like the new colors that have been added this year.

One of the cards they are going to make is using the Simply Sent Kit. Wow, I made one of the cards and that was so easy. That actually will make a good demo card at a workshop, especially for those intimidated by stamping. I love the little pink flowers. They just dress up the card and give it a touch of elegance.

Well fellow stampers, I need to come up with another idea for one more card. I have an idea, but when I put it to the cardstock, it just didn't look right. So back to the drawing board. Until next time, happy stamping and stay well and healthy.

Blessings,

Sandy Hill

What a beautiful day

Good morning friends and fellow stampers. I hope your day is as beautiful as mine. Do any of you ever have so much to do that your mind just goes in circles? Well, mine is like that daily. I have in my mind what I am going to stamp or try and create, then I will go to someone blog and see something there that I absolutely have to make, so that is in my mind, then I go to another blog and oh boy, there is something totally different, but just as nice and now I have to try that also. Well, that happens to me all the time. Today, though I was looking through the Stampin Connection cards (all samples) and I came across a card I really liked for a Christmas card. Well, I have to tell you, the poster put her blog address on and I immediately went to it. She is doing a Christmas card class with a homemade box to put them in. For the tutorial, it was like $5.00 so I am thinking, I want to do this. Yep I bought her tutorial and I just finished making the box and one of the cards. Friends and stampers, if you haven't already, you need to go to Angela McKay's blog: http://northshorestamper.com/. I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. So I am attaching a picture of the box I made and one of my cards. I hope you enjoy. And Angela, if you see this post, thank you for the inspiration. I love it.

I hope this finds all of you healthy and well.

Blessings,

Sandy Hill

A Casing I Will Go

I am still trying to get the hang of this blogging thing. I wish I was talented enough to blog on a daily basis, but then I don't really have time. I work full time outside the home and really can't work on my blog at the office. Also, anyone who really knows me, knows I don't have any talent whatsoever. I am a stalker, caser whatever you want to call me. I do try to change up my cards a little so they aren't identical to the original poster, but it was never my idea. I have a card class coming up in three days and I have five cards designed and everything cut and ready to go. But I still have a sixth card I need to work on. Thank goodness there are so many wonderful, talented ladies and men out there who are great designers. Without you, I would be up a creek.

For the past couple of days I have been working on a couple of cards for next months class. But I think I will only post one of the cards that we will be doing at my card class this week. And next month you can see my halloween cards that we will be making. This card I would like to give Sharri Coates the credit. I kept this simple, but added the new Chantilly crochet trim on top of the Early Espresso 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and that you will be blessed beyond measure and I hope this finds you all healthy and safe.

Blessings,

Sandy

It's Been a Week and I am Still Tired

It has been a week since I got home from convention and I am still tired. I cannot believe just how wiped out I am, BUT, I wouldn't trade convention for anything. There was so much to learn and do and I am already planning on going next year.

My son from Eugene, Oregon came over this weekend, so I didn't get a lot done. I haven't seen him since he got home from Iraq, so it was very nice to just visit with him. And, it was so cool, because he wanted to see my craft room and how I made cards etc. Maybe I can recruit him, what do you think?

I am posting a couple more pictures from convention. These are my friends Sue and Jennifer from Texas. It was so great getting to see them and visit for a little bit.

I have a card class coming up in one week and I haven't even started to prepare for it and I have 15 coming to my first class and 13 to my second class. Guess I should get started pretty quick before I find myself up a creek.
Well, fellow crafters and bloggers, I hope this finds you all well and healthy. Have a terrific week. And hopefully I will get the hang of this blogging stuff.
Blessings,
